Essential Functions

Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
Maintain or repair specialized equipment such as break and shear machines, paint booths, welding machines, forklifts, etc.
Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electrical components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.
Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
Perform general cleaning duties of buildings or properties.
Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
Competencies
Must have knowledge in single phase and 3 phase wiring up to 480 volt.
Knowledge in hydraulic equpment repair; press breaks, punch press, mechanical punch press, sheers, computer program equipment, heating/cooling equipment of paint booths.
Knowledge of forklift maintenance & repair.
Knowledge of welding equipment repair & maintenance.
Knowledge of overhead crane maintenance.
Trailer & Diesel truck maintenance.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to rebuild and overhaul various types of machinery with little supervision.
Knowledge of motor controls and motor control wiring.
Be able to trouble shoot mechanical or electrical problems on various types of machinery.
Knowledge of hydraulic a plus.

Work Environment
This job operates in a shop production environment. Includes exposure to sounds and noise level that are distracting or uncomfortable. Requires working in a very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) temperatures. Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions. Requires working indoors and outdoors in non-controlled environmental conditions. Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people. Requires exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings. Requires exposure to hazardous equipment.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift 50lbs periodically. Requires walking, standing, squatting, bending, climbing, kneeling, crawling, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, repetittive movement, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
Required Education and Experience 3 Years plus experience in single phase and 3 phase wiring up to 480 volt. 3 years plus experience in basic hydraulic equipment repair; press breaks, punch press, mechanical punch press, sheers, computer program equipment, heating/cooling equipment of paint booths. 3 years plus experience in welding equipment maintenance and repair. 3 years plus in trailer & diesel maintenance 3 years plus in overhead crane maintenance. 3 years plus in trouble shooting mechanical or electrical problems on various types of machinery.
